In most parts of the world, the cute little device you’re looking at here would pass as a perfectly acceptable Walkman. In Japan, though, it’s more than just a Walkman — it’s a Walkman phone, people. The Sony Ericsson Xmini has been added to KDDI au’s CDMA-based lineup, measuring just 75 x 44 x 18mm and tossing aside the usual barrage of 8-megapixel cameras and wide VGA displays for a mere 320 x 240 screen and 4GB of on-board memory. Orange snaps the Sony Ericsson W595s, W595 special edition

Sony Ericsson has recently released the special edition of its W595 Walkman phone called W595s. French Orange will be the exclusive carrier of this device, which aside from the color doesn’t seem to differentiate itself from the original version. And while we’re talking about the color, the W595s (codename Linette) is available in “Dusty Blue,” making the device look really cool. Or at least, I like it. (more…)

AT&T gets W760 as first 3G Walkman phone

Wireless provider AT&T and handset maker Sony Ericsson on Monday announced the availability of the Sony Ericsson W760a Walkman phone, unique as the first Walkman-branded handset to offer access to 3G data networks on AT&T and possessing a built-in accelerometer that allows users to switch tracks by shaking or tilting the device.
